Queen Jane was in labour
Six days and some more.
The women grew weary
And the midwife gave o'er
"Oh, women, kind women
Pray listen to me.
Pierce my right side open
And save my baby."
A print I made in one of my Art Major 1 class, inspired by a song we sang the semester previously in Femineus Vocalis choir. It was that story of Queens Jane's last child birth and death. A very powerful and dark song, possibly my favourite we ever sang.
This was the best of the prints made. i still have the original stamp at home.
One of my mom's coworkers actually said he'd like to get it as a tattoo. I felt honoured that someone wanted it permanently inked into their skin
